Aloha, I’m Smiley Burrows. I’ve been a Hawaii Resident since 1995 and a Mother of 6 Children and Caretaker/owner of Kapoho Crater.

  • Works in Agriculture and promotes diverse agriculture including fishing, running a fruit market and farming Banana, Ulu, Kukui, Coconut, Sugar Cane, Kalo, Uala, Avocado, Citrus and a diverse range of exotic fruits and vegetables.

  • Hosted school groups at Kapoho Crater educating the Keiki on sustainability and forest management best practices, along with the cultural significance of our Wahi Pana.

  • Hosted a community garden started after Hurricane Iselle and created Kumukahi Emergency Relief Center, supporting our Kapoho residents in emergency disaster with the support of Civil Defense and Bodacious Ladies of Puna.

  • Community engagement, hosting public events on invasive species and Rat Lungworm Disease education and outreach.
